MOST BRAINLESS THING I EVER READ!
was clearing mail in com lab during the break ytd, and link here link there til i stumbled across the most ridiculous n brainless thing ever!

like seriously?! like do u even have brains?? or are u just not using em? when i counter something i usually try to be respectful in some ways... n i respect those who can debate with others politely. but this!!?
ok, lets start frm the beginning

for one, discovery channel has been portraying the 'Jaws' stereotype version of sharks. yes, what they show is true, refering to their teeth, deadliness, etc. sharks can be dangerous no doubt. BUT they are NOT pure killing machines. many people, scientists, researches and the like have swam with sharks, for years even, without a single accident. besides, most sharks are unable to cause any harm to humans. only a few species has been known to attack. sharks have also been observed engaging in playful activities (like catching). discovery channel failed to show tat there are more to sharks then just killing.
two, countary to popular beliefs, sharks do sleep. unlike most fishes, sharks have to swim to pump water over their gills to 'breathe'. they also dun have swim bladders for buoyancy n have to swim constantly to prevent sinking. species with spiracles are able to pump water at rest. this means yes they do rest at the bottom of the seabed and sleep. for those tat dun have this, they have to swim continuously to ensure they have oxygen. for some, like the spiny dogfish, the spinal cord coordinates swimming instead of the brain (sort of like a reflex action) so they can sleep while swimming (like an albatross can sleep while flying). it is also possible tat sharks sleep in a manner similar to dolphins, resting one cerebral hemisphere at a time (basically "shutting off" half the brain at a time). need i repeat my TS?
three, sharks eyes are very similar to tat of humans... so wat are u implying? sharks have a highly developed visual system, esp the great white. their retina is particularly well equipped to discern spatial relationships and detect fine details. they stalk seals/sea lions by tracking their animated dark silhouettes against the glaring, sundappled surface. so is it really their fault if they cant really discern between the silhouette of a seal n tat of a human on a surfboard which looks remarkably like tat of a seal? n who ask humans to venture into their territory? being at the top of their foodchain, everything else is (by right) food to them. yet sharks are mostly shy n will avoid humans.

Excuse me?! have u any idea wat sharks do for the ocean?? without sharks, the whole fragile ecosystem of the ocean will collapse! we're upsetting the natural balance in the ecosystem enough already as it is. extermination!?!? obviously u know nothing about bio/ecology. and in NO WAYS are sharks related to the Nazis!! as mentioned above, there is more to sharks than just killing. the 'Jaws' stereotype shark is fictional!
ok, now to address the crux of the post.

first things first, i can absolutely assure u tat u have no need to worry about amputated sharks finding u for revenge killing, so u can go sleep in peace now. IF SHARKS HAVE NO FINS HOW CAN THEY SWIM U IDIOT! obviously u know nothing about tat too. this is like basic general knowledge, how can u not know tat?! u must have been sleeping in all ur lessons, esp bio ones! its not like sharks can grow their fins back like lizards do with their tails..!! for those who dun know, ALL the fins are cut off, not only the dorsal fin! even the tail fins of the sharks are cut off too! so the shark cant swim, what happens? for those who read frm the start u shld know. they sink. they drown. they die. happy now?
besides i havent read of any sharks getting angry or (as u said) "pissed". ppl have been known to provoke animals (such as dogs) to invoke the violence within to see them display heightened levels of aggression and brutalness. but have u heard of an angry shark?? i read of a diver who kicked a shark accidentally cos he didnt know the shark was right underneath him. (n it was a big shark for clarification sake) he was afraid tat he might have provoked the shark, causing it to attack him. instead, nothing happens. the shark just swims away leisurely, no changes in its initial speed/direction. point proven?
u might as well worry about headless chickens revolting n mass killing to take revenge for their countless comarades ending up in KFC!
seriously! how brainless can one get? i've read anti-shark stuff frm ppl before. though most are misconceptions n misunderstanding n all 'Jaws' stereotyped, but i have never read anything like this before. oh my tian. pls go read up on real facts instead of fictional text before posting such ridiculous stuff!
cant believe i just spent so much time writing one post just to counter someone's nonsense. this shows how some ppl really misunderstands sharks...seriously....

quick update on the main things tat happened in my sept hols
4/9
went down to serene macs. ate with alex, mich, alysia, sher n amanda. talked n recalled IHAL over diner.
met the rest at meeting place @trinity @adam!! (finally for the 1st time a combined event is held @adam!!! --really missed tat place) and we went for 4 ONE!!! =D
really had a great time of worshipping then, n PDa shared a few words... all the songs were composed by IGNYTE, n the band was WOAH!! totally awesome. only thing was tat the music was too loud. literally BLASTING!
went partially deaf after the event. was like shouting the whole time i was talking to ppl after tat cos i couldnt really hear myself. the music was really really loud! plus i sitting 2nd row somemore, right in front of the speakers.. my ears hurt (literally) n there was a slight ringing sound... but at least i recovered the next day.. sort of.. i highly doubt my ears would ever be as sensitive as before now....
oh wells. but minus the sacrificial of my ears and hearing, the combined worship service was totally awesome and so worth the sacrifice!! =)

met the section at bugis for section steamboat dinner. seemed more like SP/SL steamboat dinner... only the SPs and above came!! =( but had a good time of bonding and eating. had to combine 2 tables cos our grp was quite big (me, chloe, jer, chris, drew, shumei, esther, sisQY, sis serene) my table was jer and chloe. jer poor thing,cos me n chloe dun eat veg n spicy, so he cannot have ma lah n he dun dare put in veg in the soup cos he scared we wont drink the soup after tat.. lol.
but we really had a great time of bonding. (me n jer bonded over trying to fry an egg.. LOL part of the egg got stuck on the foil, but wat we managed to savaged actually tasted good!! ahaha xD) had a (failed) game of truth n dare then joined in the other table talk on the relationships of the leaders.. lol.
in the end, focus was on sis serene. we all trying to guess who she like. pester her like siao. tried all ways to persuade her.. but.... haha.
celebrated esther's bday as well... the guys went "to toilet to make cake" when they hid somewhere to prepare the cake. when they came back, chloe was like "see! they really went to make cake!" lol.
had icecream for dessert after tat.. continued trying to find our who she like. got her to say her top 5 favourite leaders.. but cannot say cos we all "promised to secrecy" but seriously, even after she say her top 5, we still stick to our top 2 most likely candidates. Lol.

went to bugis for steamboat dinner again. only this was with the IHAL tech team!!!!!! haha. finally! after soooooooo long we finally had our reunion dinner... only thing was not everyone could come.. in fact, for the tech side, only me n shamus came. the video team very happy. cos we always out-number them like 20 v 7. but now, they win us 6 v 2 LOL.
hd a great time, n there was a debrief afterwards. really really reaallllllyyyyy missed IHAL
joseph (or is his name joshua? cant rmb.. oops) stood up for me when broZC said "guys...". he was like "shouldnt it be guys n gal??" haha. thanks man. really appreciate it whenever ppl do include me as a girl. =) (n of course broZC must have the last say. "guys is a general term" haha.)
side-note: i'm not offended or upset (usually) when ppl use a general term, but i feel really appreciated if ppl do take the effort to include the other gender (esp when its the minority --like in this case, i was the only girl --again). tat is if its not in a sacarstic tone.
